Water Sampling & Laboratory Testing

Water sampling provides verified evidence of the microbiological condition of your system. We collect samples using full chain-of-custody handling, send them to an independent water testing laboratory, and have a qualified engineer interpret the results — with practical follow-up actions where needed.

Frequency

Risk-driven (often quarterly or annual)

Site time

Typically 1–4 hours per visit

Deliverable

Lab certificate + interpretation

Why it matters

Sampling is the only way to verify what is actually in your water. Temperature checks and visual inspection identify risk; sampling tells you whether your control regime is working in practice.

Sampling is the right default for higher-risk systems — cooling towers, healthcare premises, sites with vulnerable occupants — and any time you need to verify a disinfection has worked.

Who it's for

  • Properties with high-risk populations or sensitive end users
  • Sites flagged as high risk in a Legionella risk assessment
  • Post-disinfection verification (e.g. after tank cleans)
  • Properties with cooling towers or evaporative condensers
  • Routine water hygiene sampling programmes

What's included

  • Sampling planning and scope definition
  • Aseptic sample collection
  • Chain-of-custody handling and transport
  • Independent laboratory analysis
  • Engineer-led interpretation and remedial advice

What you receive

  • Laboratory analysis certificates
  • Plain-English engineer interpretation
  • Recommended remedial action where required
  • Clear written records for your file

Our process

A repeatable, engineer-led delivery sequence.

  1. 1

    Sampling plan

We agree the outlet schedule, parameters (Legionella spp., total viable counts, Pseudomonas as required) and frequency before attending.

  2. 2

    Aseptic collection

Engineers collect samples using sterile bottles, neutralisers and full chain-of-custody documentation.

  3. 3

    Laboratory analysis

Samples are transported under controlled conditions to an independent water testing laboratory for culture and identification.

  4. 4

    Result interpretation

A qualified engineer reviews the certificate and writes a plain-English interpretation — not just a forwarded PDF.

  5. 5

    Action plan

If results are out-of-spec we co-ordinate remedial works (flush, disinfect, re-sample) and notify you immediately.
